Public Sector Services

EAGLE‑Net Alliance’s broadband optical network spans the state of Colorado. The modern Cisco Systems networking equipment installed by EAGLE‑Net leverages two technologies to bring big data pipes to rural Colorado: Dense Wavelength-Division Multiplexing (DWDM) and MultiProtocol Label Switching (MPLS). DWDM combines dozens of 10Gbps “fiber optic waves” onto a single fiber, creating an enormously large data channel. The MPLS lets our routers direct many different virtual networks onto these enormous channels, and can also quickly re-route traffic around network problems such as broken fibers or power failures.

EAGLE‑Net offers the following public sector broadband Ethernet services:

*Government Member Internet Service is only offered to public schools, public libraries, local, state and federal government entities, and government healthcare facilities who have entered into an EAGLE‑Net intergovernmental agreement.

This map shows the central core of the EAGLE‑Net statewide network. The seven peering sites aggregate the middle mile lateral connections from various communities onto the core network.
